A quick switch of mediums

DSC_0004

I'm changing gears this weekend from fabric to frosting.

I took a brief hiatus from making cakes towards the end of my pregnancy, but I'm starting back up with orders for two baby showers this weekend.

Three layers of vanilla cake with whipped cookies and cream filling and giant swiss meringue buttercream roses.

As a side note, Phoebe once told a friend of mine who was preparing her lunch that, "I only eat cake and cookies and candy and ice cream".

It's hard not to in this house.

  1. That is a beautiful cake! Thanks for keeping up your blog, I rarely read blogs but came across yours a year or two ago. I have a young daughter and can't imagine how little time there is with two sweet ones in the house.

  6. Oh my gosh, that is BEAUTIFUL! My mouth is watering. It's good to have many hobbies...I find myself switching it up throughout the year (crochet, quilt, garden, bake). I think it's seasonal. :) When people say, "Oh, you're so CREATIVE!!!" what goes through my head is, "No, I just have a short attention span."

  7. That is the most gorgeous cake. It reminds me of satin ribbon roses. I just love the ballerina pink color of the buttercream.
